By submitting a photograph (the "Entry") to the Wabamun Community League Photo Contest, the entrant (or their parent/legal guardian, if applicable) agrees to be bound by the following terms and conditions: 1. Originality & Ownership Warranties •Sole Authorship: The entrant warrants that they are the original photographer and creator of the Entry, or that they hold full, unencumbered rights and ownership to the photograph submitted. •No Infringement: The Entry must not violate or infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, privacy, publicity, or any other intellectual property or legal rights of any third party. •No Stock or AI-Generated Images: Submitted images must be authentic photographs taken by the entrant. Stock imagery and AI-generated artwork are ineligible. 2. Transfer of Rights & Waiver of Moral Rights •Assignment of Ownership: By submitting an Entry, the entrant irrevocably assigns and transfers to the Wabamun Community League all rights, title, and interest in and to the photograph, including full copyright ownership, without financial compensation or further remuneration. •League Usage Rights: The Wabamun Community League shall have the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, publish, modify, crop, adapt, display, and distribute the photograph in perpetuity across any medium—including, but not limited to, the League’s website, social media channels, newsletters, promotional materials, and community archives—without prior notice or approval. •Waiver of Moral Rights: To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, the entrant unconditionally and irrevocably waives all moral rights (as defined under the Copyright Act of Canada) in the photograph in favour of the Wabamun Community League. Content Standards & Disqualification •Appropriate Content: Entries must be suitable for a general family audience. Photographs that contain defamatory, unlawful, obscene, harassing, or commercially promotional content will be automatically rejected. •Right to Disqualify: The Wabamun Community League reserves the sole right to disqualify any Entry that fails to comply with these rules, appears to be manipulated beyond standard color/exposure corrections, or is deemed inappropriate for community publication. 6. Indemnification & Limitation of Liability •Hold Harmless: Entrants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Wabamun Community League, its executive board, volunteers, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to a breach of these terms, copyright dispute, or unauthorized depiction of any individual or property in the submitted photograph. •Technical Issues: The League is not responsible for lost, late, corrupted, or misdirected submissions due to technical, network, or website transmission errors. 7. Collection of Personal Information •Privacy: Personal information collected during submission (such as name, email address, and phone number) will be used solely by the Wabamun Community League for the administration of the contest, participant communication, and attributing photo credit where applicable, in accordance with applicable provincial privacy legislation.
